Det lyder som om at Hasse er inde på noget af det rigtige.
Smølfet fra miata.net \"you have to reuse the 1.6 fuel injector harness and take the 1.8 harness one completely out. Having the 1.8 Harness connected just confuses you. Take the whole thing out. Also this is very important. Make sure that you use the 1.6 firing order if your not switching the ecu harness and ecu. Or it won't start. I did the swap and when I try to fired it up with 1.8 firing order it cranked, but did not start. So I tryed the 1.6 firing order for heck of it and it start it right up!\"
Her står lidt om hvordan man gør:

Også fra miata.net: \"I completed this swap about 2 months ago. It's all relatively straightforward. If you've already got the engine in the car, it may be a little more difficult, but still do-able. I chose to prep my 1.8 motor outside the engine bay, so that everything would bolt right up once I dropped the motor in. Here's what you'll need to swap over from your 1.6 in order for the bigger engine to work with your ECU:
1.) Cam Angle Sensor (although they may look similar, they are not the same)
2.) Ignition coils
3.) Fuel injector harness
4.) Water temp. sensor on rear heater hose manifold
5.) Thermostat housing and spout with fan temp. sensor (upper rad. hose)
6.) Throttle body with AIC attached
There's another small sensor (?) located at the right rear of the 1.6 head that connects with a single spade connector to a wire that joins the fuel injector harness. This sensor (?) must be re-located to the opposite side of the head on the 1.8 motor and the wire lengthened.
If your 1.8 motor didn't come with an alternator, you'll need to swap over your alternator, crank and waterpump pulleys as well. Once you've done all this, everything should bolt right into place.
I'd also advise swapping oil pressure senders, as years 90-94 utilized real pressure gauges, whereas 95-up just \"dummy gauges.\"\"
